Published by small, independent company Herald Publishing, The Herald is a FREE community magazine published every 3 weeks, when 10,000 copies are distributed through a network of nearly 300 distribution points across the area. The magazine is designed to encourage local enterprise and promote local community values.
Originally launched as the Hythe & Dibden Purlieu Herald in 1994 by founder Janice Taylor, with a print run of just 1,500 per month, the magazine quickly grew in popularity and now, renamed simply The Herald, covers a vastly expanded area that includes not only the whole of the Waterside, but also Totton, Romsey, The Wellows, North Baddesley and communities in New Forest East such as Lyndhurst, Beaulieu, Minstead, East Boldre and Pilley.
